Renovations

Hi guys,

I'm back again.
To give you a quick peek into what I am up to at the moment, here it is...

This is what my life looks like right now... I am renovating my future place of living. And yes I ripped wallpaper of the whole wall! Am quite proud I have to say ( yes yes veeery thrilling...). Of course there still has to be done a whole lot of painting, cleaning etc. but it should be habitable soon.

I am sorry if I bored you with this short non-beauty post, just wanted to keep you updated.

See you soon,

Tangerine Queen and a piece of advice

Hey guys,

hope you are all well :)
Over here it has reached 39°C on sunday... 39!! I was in Hamburg that day and was literally melting away...
I went there because my bestest moved there and invited us to her housewarming/ birthday party.
So, as I knew it would be make-up melting time I put on some Vichy Lumière tinted moisturiser and mineral powder by Art Deco. The thing was... the tinted moisturiser was not EXACTLY my skin colour... in fact I am fair and IT was orange...!
It said that you should use a teeny tiny amount of it to add some tan to your face and it doesn't matter that you are fair, you look glowy and ravishing...WELL!
A few times it actually worked, I looked tanned and not like a member of Jersey Shore.
But on that sunday... oh dear! I arrived after a 2 hour journey on the top floor of her appartment bloc, completely hot and - ok let's say it- sweaty as hell. So when I came in she said: Oh my, your face is red!
When I looked in the mirror I realised it was not the heat... it was the moisturiser.
So I PRETENDED I didn't realise I was the queen of the tangerine's and sat down casually in the living for half an hour, as you do, before CASUALLY I went to my bag, grabbed my baby wipes (saviour mine) and my powder (actually my REAL colour) and rushed to the bath...

What did I do afterwards? Yes chuck away that bloody stuff into the never-come-back bin.
So don't believe what they say in adverts, on the internet etc. PLEASE always use your own skin tone. If you on the other hand prefer that look... well, orange away!
What I should add, there is a new BB-cream on the market, the one by Mabelline... same problem! Rosey skin tone? No taste for orange extravaganza? Please do not buy!

Anyone of you had a similar experience?

That was it for now,
hope you have a lovely day! ;)

My very first Glossybox!

Hello there,

well was I excited when I ordered my first Glossybox in life... :). We have our own Glossyboxes in Germany, their facebook-page even says it is originally a German product or idea rather, which was completely new to me.
I think most of you will not know all the brands I will post on here - neither do I  :D - but I think it is still very interesting what other countries put into the Glossybox, so here it is in all its glory...

Pretty, isn't it? ;) The pink cardboard box makes me happy already

Here open with the contents...

At first I wasn't sure if I should reaally order Glossyboxes... I mean  I love the idea of you getting products of different brands, high-end as well as drugstore. But still...
I have to admit now... I adooore it!!! Even the pink box itself smells gorgeous (yes call me crazy) of expensive cardboard. I think as well that I love the box the most, no matter what content :D

But enough of the rambling here is what I got:

Alessandro Pedix Feet Hell Rescue Balm: with Sheabutter, Allantione and Tea Tree Oil in a handy travel size.

Astor Big & Beautiful Ultra Volume Mascara: As far as I know Heidi Klum advertises for it... not exactly a reason for me to buy it but anyway. It has a big fibrebrush to spread (do you say spread with mascara?) as much mascara as possible on the lashes. I tried it, nice and non clumpy, but I shall give it another try.

Avène Réflexe Solaire SPF 50+: Which is a sunscreen also in travel size.

C:EHKO Balsam Fluid Plus: Little red capsules filled with repair-balm for very dry hair. The packaging looks a bit like a UFO to be honest...

NOBLE ISLE Summer Rising Cornish Hedgerows Bath & Shower Gel: Said to smell like summer like nothing else... well I like the smell. It is fresh and a bit woody ( is that a word? ) I would say. A bit like walking through the woods on an early summer morning ( what I never did, but I would imagine woods to smell like that on a summer morning ;) ).

Everything comes in a travel size, except for the mascara, which is the overall theme of the box. Everything sorted to give you a good foundation for your holiday.
The foot balm and sunscreen I gave to my mum as she can make better use of them, as I am only an SPF 30 person. With all those goodies also came a cardboard bookmark and a pink-black Glossybox-Eyecover (and of course the Glossymag).

In total I like the box very much, I like the brand mixture and the products I (we) tried so far (mascara, sunscreen) work very well for me (us). I am already excited about the August Glossybox :).
I also ordered a special edition GB for young women (of  which I think I still am one ;) ) and cannot wait it to be delivered. I will tell and show...

Hope you have a grrrreat weekend,

To start anew...

Hi Guys,

ok this time I really do apologize (kind of a habit of mine I guess ;) )!
I haven't blogged for literally AGES now and am feeling very sorry about that. I must admit I had a very unsatisfying job lately so was not in the mood AT ALL to blog. I know followers don't fall from the skies and you will not be interested in a blog with new posts every few months... so I decided to change my style a bit (not the appearance of my blog, don't worry).
Most of the time my blogs fail because I cannot get pictures of the things-to-show in time or most of the time  I want to write about random things but I don't know if you are interested... but in the end I decided to give it a go and change the content a bit. Beauty and lifestyle will still be the main target, but also random things in life like Uni or work or what I am up to at the moment :).

Hence I hope you still like to read the posts, the next one will come up in a jiffy (this time for real ;) ). So just relax and enjoy...

The Swap!

Hi guys,

I haven't been around very much lately of which I am very sorry and do apologize :(. Had lots of family around (which is always very lovely but very tiring ;) ), because my big sister decided to get married (yippiiiieeeee)!
I am also moving out soon into my own little flat (yeay!) and have to shop a LOT right now... yes yes yadda yadda...
So far so good, but now to the more interesting things :)...
Weeks ago when I was still in the UK (sniff), my friend Leah and I started thinking how it would be if we started a product- swap between Germany and the UK... I know some beautybloggers e.g. SprinkleofGlitter and Marie Bitsandclips (UK - US) already do this and I really like the idea.
For those of you who do not know what I mean, in regular or irregular intervals (depends on how it's working out) I will send a little parcel to Leah and Leah to me with beauty things (or else) inside that are not available in the UK/Germany. And she will (I am pretty sure ;) ) review them on her youtube-Channel and I will on my blog.

I wanted to start the swap and I thought about prohibiting Leah to read this blog-post (ha ha) to tell you guys beforehand what is going to be in it, but... I decided not to (sorry). I am going to tell you afterwards, because I really want it to be a surprise for her ;).

What I can reveal so far is that I decided to go for four different categories but all beauty related and under one overall theme.

I am going to send it very soon so Leah (and you) do not have to wait for too long ;).

Next blogpost following soon!

Just a quick one...

Hi Guys!
I am very VERY sorry I did not write ANYTHING in a very long time... I was finishing my last few essays and moved back to Germany :.-( . Yeah I know, it was a bit sad (or bit more) leaving my friends behind knowing I won't come back after summer... so if you read this: I miss youuuuuuuuu!!

Right now there are so many things happening (my sister's wedding, them moving house, me moving out AGAIN... oy) but I'll try to be quicker with my next post, I promise! ;)

I have got so many posts in my mind, I really have to get going...! :D

So... I hope you had a lovely tuesday (if one COULD have a lovely tuesday... it is a beginning-of-the-week-but-still-so-much-left-day, you know what I mean?)

Anyway see you soon, :)

Crazy about Babyproducts

Hi Guys!
I am very sorry that I was away for so long... seems like AGES to me... ok maybe not. Had loads of Uniwork to do, always a good (good???) explanation...
Ok, so let's talk Babyproducts. I have just recently become a godmum (yippiiiie! :) ) and since I knew my best friend was pregnant I started carrying baby wipes with me... you'd think now 'errrrm that's odd the mum wouldn't need them till the baby is born...' very true very true, BUT I thought better be prepared. Ok call me weird.
I never tried baby wipes before. I heard many beauty bloggers and vloggers rambling about them, using them as make-up remover wipes or else (else I don't know what else!) From first trying them I was obsessed with them! Honestly they are SO good and versatile, ok let's I have used them for... removing make-up, wiping hands, cleaning desks, cleaning my PC at work (oh yeah!), cleaning our bathroom (now you know Jess ;D) and of course when baby was born, for the baby... quite a lot isn't it? Well I wouldn't say I'd always clean my house with them as they leave streams if you don't use proper cleaning stuff, but always good for a quick clean.

So just recently I went to Poundland (yes that lovely shop with the hideous lighting and that frrrriendly staff!) for toilet paper (too much info I know, sorry) and for some time now I wanted to get one of these shower puffs or poofs... well one of those. But there I saw baby sponges 3 for 1 pound! So my mind (always happy to get a bargain ;) ) thought 'hmmm...', also I saw a bottle of baby lotion (not kidding) I sniffed it and thought uuuhhh that's lovely. I smelled somehow... cosy. Sounds strange I know.
But well on that day it was raining, I mean sincerely RAINING, POURING, GET YOUR SANDSACKS PEOPLE! Something like that. So on those days I am in the mood for warmth and cosiness and that baby lotion just smelled divine to me.
So when I came home all wet and cold, I treated myself with a hot shower (haahhh) using my new sponges (just a drop of shower gel, press a few times and foam heaven is on!) and indulged in my new baby lotion afterwards...
I loved it, it was just what I needed after a cold and rainy day. I admit that on light and sunny days the lotion might smell a bit too cosy for use, but it also has benefits for sensitive skin - like mine - so especially for only one pound that was a very good buy!

Here to get a look...

What experiences do you have with baby products? Please let me know.
